What is migration registration?
It is a mandatory procedure for registering foreign citizens at their place of stay in Russia. All foreigners entering the Russian Federation must register within the established deadlines.

What to do after arrival?
Immediately contact the Migration Department of your university (for students).
Provide the following documents for registration:
- Passport + copy
- Migration card (with entry stamp)
- Document confirming place of residence (for example, a dormitory agreement)
Registration and migration registration
- Registration of students in the dormitory and is made by the university (in the dormitories 1-5), or administration of the partner dormitory or hostel.
- Registration of students in rented apartments is made by the owner of the apartment at the request of the university.
Action algorithm:
- Obtain an application
- In person at the Migration Registration Department (office 123, 8/2 Trubetskaya Street);
- By email: invitation@staff.sechenov.ru;
- Together with the landlord, visit the Department of Migration Affairs of the District Police Department
IMPORTANT:
- Registration is mandatory even for short-term stays (about 90 days).
- If you move to another city, you must re-register within 5 days (for citizens with visa-free entry).
- Citizens of the EAEU (Belarus, Kazakhstan, etc.) should take into account extended deadlines.
