Fingerprinting + Medical Examination

Mandatory Procedures for International Students in the Russian Federation (since 29.12.2021)

According to the new requirements, all foreign citizens who entered Russia after December 29, 2021, are obliged to undergo:
Medical examination
(tests, doctors’ check-ups)
Fingerprinting
(dactyloscopy)
Photographing

Deadlines

Within 90 days from the date of entry into Russia (if staying longer than 90 days).
If not completed on time:
  • The permitted period of stay will be shortened
  • Mandatory departure from Russia within 3 days

How to complete the procedures?

Stage 1: Medical Examination
Where?
Required documents:
  • Passport + notarized translation of passport (if there is no Russian duplicate in the document)
  • Migration card + copy
  • Notification of arrival (registration) + copy
  • Visa + copy (for countries with visa regime)
Stage 2: Fingerprinting and Photographing
Where?
Required documents:
  • Passport + notarized translation of passport (if there is no Russian duplicate in the document)
  • Migration card + copy
  • Notification of arrival (registration) + copy
  • Visa + copy (for countries with visa regime)
  • Medical certificate confirming medical examination completion

Validity of Documents

Medical examination – 12 months
(then must be renewed)
Fingerprinting and photographing – one-time only
(not required again for future entries)
Important!
These procedures must not be skipped — failure to comply may result in visa cancellation and deportation.
