Re-registration

When do you need to re-register?

You are required to obtain a new registration within 3 working days if:

The long-term stays
more than 90 days

You received inpatient treatment
in a medical facility

You stayed in a hotel, hostel, or guesthouse
even for 1 night

You changed your place of residence
moved to another dormitory/apartment

You left Russia
for holidays, going home, or traveling to other countries

You extended your visa
including when changing from a single-entry to a multiple-entry student visa

Contact the Migration Registration Department 20 days before the end of the current registration period

Provide the necessary documents for registration:

A copy of the main page of the passport
A copy of the current visa (and previous visas, if any)
A copy of the migration card
Tear-off notification (registration) form
A certificate from the hostel (get from the administrator), or a copy of the agreement with the landlord
Receipt of payment of the state fee for migration registration (details on the WMD website)

Migration registration and registration

Registration of students in the dormitory is carried out by the university (in dormitories 1-5), or by the administration of the partner dormitory or hostel
Registration of students in a rented apartment is carried out by the apartment owner at the request of the university

Steps:

Personally at the Migration Registration Department (office 123, Trubetskaya str., 8/2)
By email: invitation@staff.sechenov.ru;

Together with the landlord, visit the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the area of residence

Important!

You must submit the detachable part of your registration slip to the University’s Migration Department
Failure to meet deadlines may result in a fine of up to 7,000 ₽ and possible visa cancellation
The state fee for extending the period of temporary stay (migration registration and registration) is 1,000 rubles

Before leaving Russia, you must:

It helps the University keep track of students and avoid problems with visa extension
