If you have been expelled from Sechenov University but wish to continue your studies, you have the opportunity to be reinstated within 5 years from the date of expulsion.
Who can be reinstated?
Can be reinstated:
- Expelled at their own request
- Expelled for financial debt
- Expelled for academic failure
Cannot be reinstated:
- Expelled for violation of the University Charter, Internal Regulations, or laws of the Russian Federation.
- Expelled for violation of admission rules.

How is the application reviewed?
The decision is made by the University Commission based on:
- Your academic record before expulsion.
- Presence of disciplinary actions.
- Additional information provided by the Director of your Institute (if applicable).
Possible outcomes of the Commission’s decision:
- Reinstatement under the chosen conditions (program, year of study).
- Reinstatement with modified conditions (e.g., one year lower).
- Refusal of reinstatement.
Important:
- You are strictly prohibited from contacting Commission members, exerting pressure, or influencing the reinstatement decision in any way.
- The Commission has the right to refuse reinstatement without explaining the reason.
What to do after reinstatement is approved?
Check your email – you will receive a letter with study conditions.
Pay tuition fees (if required).
Sign a new contract – read it carefully!
If you have academic differences:
You will need to pass the subjects you missed.
If the difference is too large, you may be reinstated to a lower year of study.
