What is a Campus Card and What is it For?

The Campus Card (MIR card) is a multifunctional card issued by Sechenov University in partnership with Sberbank. It combines several essential tools for a student:
  • Banking Services: A full-fledged bank card for receiving scholarships and other payments, with free annual maintenance.
  • University Pass: Used for access to academic buildings and other university facilities.
  • Library Card: Required for borrowing educational literature from the Fundamental Research Library.

Where and When Can I Get the Card?

Pick-up Location:
The Multifunctional Center (MFC) of Sechenov University.
Address:
Moscow, Trubetskaya St., 8, bldg. 2 (entrance from the courtyard).
Business Hours:
On business days (Monday–Friday) from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Distribution Start Date:
From August 20, 2025.

Conditions and Procedure for Receiving the Card

Before picking up your card, please ensure you meet all the conditions:
Check if it's ready
Information about the card's readiness appears in your Sberbank Online personal account. The card can be collected no earlier than 7 business days after this notification appears.
Do not block the card
We strongly advise you not to block the card in Sberbank Online before you physically receive it.
Bring your documents
  • For Russian citizens: original passport.
  • For international citizens: original national passport, a copy of it, and a notarized translation.
  • Personal mobile phone.
Important
If you activated the card via Sberbank Online, do not forget to pick up the physical plastic card at the MFC. The bank card cannot be produced if you have not provided the university with your current passport data.

Validity Period and Card Reissue

Your card's validity period is 5 years. The month and year of expiration are indicated on the front of the card in the format MM/YY (for example, 04/25 means April 2025).

How to Reissue the Card?

The card needs to be reissued in two cases:
The validity period has expired (see the date on the card).
The card is lost, stolen, or not working.
Steps for Reissuance:
Contact Sberbank: call 8-800-555-55-50 (or 900 from a mobile) or visit any Sberbank branch in Moscow.
Provide the security word (if calling). If you have forgotten it, you must personally visit a Sberbank branch in Moscow and submit an application to change your control information.
Pick up your new card at the selected Sberbank branch.
Notify the University! After receiving the new card, you must approach your Dean's Office so they can update the card data in the university's access system.

Changing Passport Data in the Campus Card

If you need to correct the passport data in your campus card, please contact the Sberbank branch:

Mon–Fri,
from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
What to do:
Go to window №8 with your original passport and its notarized translation.
Important
  • Bring this notification with you (printed out or on your mobile phone screen).
  • 3 business days after your visit to the bank, inform the university that the changes have been made at the bank.

What to Do in Special Situations?

Passport change before receiving the card
Provide up-to-date passport data to the University. The card will not be ordered until the data is updated.
Card destroyed by the bank or change of citizenship
Contact us via the feedback form in the Student's Personal Account (system "University-To-Student"), specifying CARD MIR in the subject line.
Name change, loss, or card blocking AFTER receipt
Handle the reissue yourself ONLY at a Sberbank branch in Moscow. After receiving the new card, report it to the Dean's Office to update the data in the campus system.

Helpful Tips

Already have a card? If you already have a valid Sechenov University campus card, you do not need to get a new one.
For first-year students: Cards are produced within at least 10 business days from the date of the enrollment order.
