This brief overview will help you understand how the educational process and academic monitoring are organized. The full version of the document is available on the University's official website.
What is Ongoing Monitoring and Intermediate Assessment?
Ongoing Monitoring is the regular evaluation of your work throughout the semester: during seminars, practical classes, colloquiums, and completion of assignments.
Intermediate Assessment refers to the final pass/fail tests and exams in courses and practical trainings, which summarize your learning for a specific course or semester.
Your Responsibilities as a Student
Diligently master the educational curriculum.
Attend scheduled academic classes.
Complete all assignments given by instructors.
Have your student ID card with you for presentation during classes and exams.
Forms of Academic Monitoring
Ongoing Monitoring (during the semester)
Oral responses in seminars.
Tests and laboratory work.
Essays/reports and testing (current and mid-term).
Demonstration of practical skills and abilities.
Intermediate Assessment (session/examination period)
Pass/Fail Test (grade "Pass"/"Fail") — for courses with a workload of up to 3 credits.
Exam (grade "Excellent", "Good", "Satisfactory", "Fail") — for courses with a workload of more than 3 credits.
Practical Training Assessment.
Important: For Bachelor's and Specialist's degree students, pass/fail tests and exams often include passing centralized computer testing.
Deadlines and Retakes
Main assessment dates are approved in the curriculum and schedule.
If you receive a "Fail" grade or miss an assessment without a valid reason, you will have an academic debt.
Retake dates are provided to clear this debt (typically the first and third Friday of the month).
The debt must be cleared within 6 months from its occurrence.
Failure to appear for a retake without a valid reason results in an unsatisfactory outcome.
