The IIE Student Council: A Year in Review
On February 19, a celebratory event dedicated to the anniversary of the IMO Student Council took place in the Conference Hall of the Institute of International Education.
The evening was an open expression of gratitude to everyone who made the institute's life vibrant and helped international students feel at home.

Al-Sharafi Saif, Chairman of the Student Council, delivered a welcome address to the audience. He opened the meeting and briefly summarized the work done over the year, noting how much had been accomplished through the efforts of the students.
During the event, activists were recognized for their contribution to the development of the institute. Award ceremonies were held in several categories:
The special guest of the event was Anastasia Sergeevna Shatilina, coordinator of the Moscow Government project "Start in Moscow." She spoke about the opportunities the city offers to international students for integration, self-realization, and career development.
Varvara Kuzmenkova, Head of the "IIE Buddy" program, spoke about the activities of the adaptation sector and the importance of mentorship. She emphasized that the support of senior peers is an integral part of a comfortable learning experience in an international environment.
The evening passed in a warm and friendly atmosphere, serving not only as a conclusion to the past year but also as a starting point for new initiatives by the Student Council.

- Student Council activists and the best group leaders (starostas) received letters of appreciation.
- The best peer mentors (curators) who help first-year students adapt were also recognized.
- A key part of the evening was the awards for the best Buddies — student assistants for international students — as well as the best volunteers of the year.
