About the University

The Fundamental Educational Library is a modern information and educational hub that supports the university's academic process. Its history began in 1820 with the library of Moscow University, established on the initiative of Professor E.O. Mukhin. Today, the library combines rich traditions with advanced technologies, offering students comfortable working conditions and access to extensive resources.

What a Student Needs to Know

Modern Equipment
The library is equipped with an RFID tag system for automatic book check-out and return, saving you time. Reading rooms have Wi-Fi, allowing you to work with your own devices.
Vast Collection
The library's collection comprises 816,990 copies (approximately 119,000 titles). It is replenished annually by about 20,000 new copies of educational literature.
Electronic Resources
You have access to an Electronic Library System (ELS) with educational materials. The system operates on the OPAC-Global platform and provides powerful document search. Access is available from any internet-connected device using an individual login and password.
Unified Library System
The library is part of a unified structure with the Central Scientific Medical Library (CSML), located at 49 Nakhimovsky Prospekt. This opens access to one of the largest medical literature collections in Europe, comprising about 3 million copies.

Requests for literature from the main CSML collection are accepted until one hour before closing.
